Hello Fans-

I am home in Orlando this week preparing for my last two events of the year—The Viking Classic and The Children’s Miracle Network Classic.

Being home this week affords me some time to prepare for the final events.  I have been really close to breaking through all year, so through these last events I am hopeful to build some momentum for next year.

Overall, my game is in good shape and I feel confident with my golf swing.  For the first time since I was a kid, I feel that I have a lot of continuity with the direction of my game.  I am continuing to work on the same drills, shot pattern and swing thoughts and am confident this is going to pay off very soon.

The Playoffs!!! I remember watching the NFL/NBA/MLB playoffs as a kid—now golf has their version of the playoffs with the Fed-Ex Cup. Needless to say, it is an exciting time of the year playing in New York, Boston, Chicago and Atlanta.

This week I am in Boston and I feel good about my game. My instructor was here earlier in the week, so I feel like I am really starting to swing well. Overall, I left the 1st round of the playoffs with a positive feeling. I was one of only two players to break par on Friday morning and I drove the ball better on Sunday.

Hopefully this is the week when everything comes together. As always, thanks for your support—I will keep you posted on my progress!!!

Hello Fans-

I hope all is well with you. As I write, I am back in my hotel room at the British Open after completing my first round. The weather was perfect today and Turnberry is a great venue for the Open.

Although I shot 73, I drove the ball well and played better than my score reflected. I am really looking forward to getting out early tomorrow morning and playing some good golf. Overall, I feel good about my game and my preparation coming into the British Open. I shot four rounds in the 60’s at the John Deere last week, including a 66 on Sunday. So, if I can get some putts to drop tomorrow, I can get into the mix for the weekend.

Hello Fans!!  I hope things are well with you guys.

I am home this week practicing and preparing for one of my favorite stretch of events—Byron Nelson, Memorial and Memphis.  Overall, my year has gone very well so far with three top-five finishes.  Most importantly, I have had an opportunity to win in several events and I feel like I am very close to breaking through.  My swing and fitness level are continuing to improve so I am really excited about the next few months.

As always, I appreciate the continued support.  I hope to have some good news to report soon.

Hello everyone!

After a great start to the 2009 season at Hawaii (T4), the rest of the West Coast swing was pretty uneventful due to a balky putter. My confidence in my ball striking is much better than in previous seasons and my statistics support that I am striking the ball well—it is just a matter of making a few more putts.

Next week I am playing in the Puerto Rico Open, followed by the Transitions Championship and the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Puerto Rico is a new event for me, but I am excited about getting back to the East Coast and putting on Florida greens. Traditionally, I have played well in Tampa and Orlando, so that is encouraging as well.

If the putts start dropping, I am going to have some exciting news to report. As always, thanks for the support!!!

Happy New Year!!!!!!

I hope this entry finds 2009 off to a good start for my fans.

I am in Hawaii this week for the Sony Open.  Coming to Hawaii is always exciting for Heather and me.  We were married here and I have always played well in Hawaii; so lots of good feelings to get the season started.

At the end of the 2008 season, my game showed some real progress as I had two top-tens in my last four events.  This off-season I spent a considerable amount of time in the gym and on the range in an effort to maintain my late season momentum.  Needless to say, I am excited about getting started!!

As always, I appreciate the support from my fans.  Hopefully, I will have some good news to report from the West Coast.

I concluded my season last week at the Children’s Miracle Network Classic by finishing tied for 25^th.  Although my results for the year are not up to my usual standards, my play during the fall finish has me excited about the 2009 season.

In reflecting on 2008, my season included twelve top twenty-five finishes along with four top-ten finishes. In addition, I led the Bellsouth and Turning Stone events entering the last day before finishing T8 and T3 respectively.  In hindsight, I was very close to playing well; but, I did not seem to have that breakthrough that creates momentum.

After playing 31 events this year, I am off to Italy for some R &R.  Heather and I are excited to get away and do some traveling.  Once I return, I will update you on my trip and off-season practice.

 I am excited about arriving in Boston for the 2nd round of the Fed-ex Cup playoffs. Thus far in 2008, my game has been good in stretches; yet my finishes have been lackluster.

After a much needed week off, I am now starting a busy three-week schedule which will include the Memorial Tournament, the St. Jude Classic and finally the US Open.   My first stop will be in Dublin, Ohio for the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village.  This tournament is always one that I enjoy competing in because of its tradition, golf course, community, etc.  In addition, the combination of Mr. Nicklaus’ hospitality and Morgan Stanley’s event sponsorship makes for an unbeatable combination.

I am excited about the progress I am making with my golf game.  The AT&T Classic in Atlanta was my last event and I finished T8.  I was leading through 54 holes and unfortunately did not make anything happen on Sunday.  However, my play the first 3 rounds definitely helped my confidence.

In returning home last week, I continued to work with my instructor, Kevin Smeltz to refine my full swing and short game.   During the first three rounds at Atlanta I shot 67-69-67 and felt good about every aspect of my game.  Therefore, Kevin and I did not need to make any major changes to my swing this week and simply focused on building on the progress we already made.

As always, I appreciate my fans taking the time to read my blog.  Hopefully, I will have some good play in report over the next three weeks.

I really appreciate everyone taking the time to visit my website.   My fans are an important part of my career;  I enjoy seeing Bridgestone hats in my galleries and knowing that people are rooting for me.  In addition, I enjoy reading your e-mails and I try to respond to as many as possible. 

Since my last blog, I have some exciting news off the golf course–I signed a new corporate sponsorship with Lexus.  Lexus has been involved with golf for several years and increased their presence in 2007 by sponsoring the US Open.  After I turned professional in 2000, Lexus was the first car I purchased, and Heather and I have been Lexus owners since.  So, given my history as a Lexus owner, it is hard to describe how proud I am to wear the Lexus logo and to have the opportunity to partner with such a great company.

On the golf course I have competed in three events since my last entry:  the FBR Open, Northern Trust Open and WGC Accenture Match-Play.   At each event my game showed flashes of great golf, but the results should have been better.  At the FBR, I played extremely well through the first two rounds, but was unable to sustain my momentum on the weekend.  At the Northern Trust Open, I hit the ball extremely well, but putted poorly.  At the WGC, my game was in good form and I was pleased with my play on both days.  On Wednesday, I finished eagle-birdie-birdie to rally and defeat Stephen Ames.  On Thursday I made seven birdies, but lost to Colin Montgomerie.  Each day I was well under par, but on Thursday Colin was the better player.  Hopefully, I will get another shot at Colin in September at those little matches between the US and Europe!!!

Overall, as the Tour wraps up the West Coast swing, I am excited about my game.  I made all six cuts on the West Coast and was inside the top-10 at some point in four events.  So, to quote my good friend and world #1 Tiger Woods—“I am Close”.   

This week I am home in Orlando for some rest and work with my instructor, Kevin Smeltz.  Most of my work with Kevin will focus on the short game with some continued work on my full-swing.  Kevin is a great resource, he based in Orlando which is convenient, but most importantly Kevin is good player himself (former NCAA All-American).  So, he understands that low scores happen with the short game and he constantly reinforces this to me.  I am confident that a few sessions with Kevin will help me find that extra bit consistency that held me back on the West Coast.  

I return to competition the week of the PODS Championship in Tampa, so I hope to have something great to report after the event.  Again, thanks for your support.
